(Press Release) Village of Port Edwards Engineer/Administrator, Joseph Terry has declared a sprinkling ban effective today beginning 6:00 pm, July 23, 2012 until further notice.
The current drought has resulted in reduced well pumping capacity. To prevent service disruptions and insure safe quantities of water both for consumption and fire suppression this sprinkling ban hereby restricts the outdoor watering of lawns, gardens, and flowers from irrigation systems, hoses or hose supplied sprinklers connected to the public water supply. Watering with watering cans will be permitted. Maintenance on the well systems to help improve capacity is underway; as a result, the ban is expected to be lifted by Wednesday, August 1.
The Port Edwards Water Utility appreciates your cooperation and asks that you practice water conservation as diligently as possible.
