Portage County Emergency Management is urging people affected by power outages to seek shelter with family and friends.
They say WPS and Alliant Energy, are working to restore power as quickly as possible, but full restoration may not happen until Thursday.
If you have no where to go during the outage, the Salvation Army on Briggs Street in Stevens Point will accept some people overnight.
If you're seeking a warm place in the short term, The Portage County Public Library and CenterPoint Mall both are open until 9 p.m.
The Stevens Point Fire Department is open until midnight.
You're urged to contact your power company to report all outages.
