Just in time for a possible winter-like storm, Wisconsin is marking Winter Weather Awareness Week.
The idea is to remind people to be safe once the temperatures dip and the snow falls.
According to the Division of Emergency Management, the number one thing to do is have an emergency supply kit in your car. You should include items like blankets, extra hats, socks and mittens, a flashlight, batteries and non-perishable food among other things.
They say that in the last five years, Wisconsin has averaged 20,000 motor vehicle crashes during winter. On average, 60 people are killed each winter season.
