Friends and neighbors are helping a Granton homeowner dig through damage from Tuesday night's storm.

A garage was destroyed and personal property landed hundreds of feet away from a home on Meridian Road, just north of County Road H.

Homeowner Chasity Kuehn was cutting her daughter's hair in the bathroom when she heard the storm approaching.

Kuehn grabbed her children to get them to the basement. By the time they reached the staircase, the storm was directly over their home.

"That's all the further we made it. We didn't make it to the basement, we just hovered in the corner and prayed to God that the house didn't fall down by us," says Kuehn. "It's still standing, so we're very thankful for that."

Kuehn's mother was inside of a trailer home on the property when the storm hit. The trailer was severely damaged.

Her mother was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and is doing fine.
