MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- With autumn just around the corner, the Wisconsin Department of Tourism is launching its annual Fall Color Report.
The online report lets travelers track the change of colors in Wisconsin's 16 million acres of forests.
The foliage will change from green to a vibrant palette of colors over the next 10 weeks or so. About 100 observers will be providing updates in all 72 counties so people across the state can find out where the colors are best.
The report is available at TravelWisconsin.com. State officials say it will be updated regularly, including on Wednesdays so people can use the information to make weekend plans.
The report will show peak color locations and timing, as well as the percentage of local trees in peak color.
