A local Red Cross Chapter is reaching out to people in Myanmar.

A government official in the Southeast Asian country, which is also known as Burma, says the death toll there could go as high as 10-thousand after a weekend cyclone.

The Red Cross in Wausau says you can help by making a donation to the international disaster relief fund.

Disaster Relief Director, Jenny Legaspi says, "The international disaster relief fund is always there for people to donate money, that is put in that fund to an international disaster relief effort."

The Red Cross will not accept food, clothing, or cleaning supplies because it's too difficult to ship over seas.

But you can make a money donation designated to the international disaster relief fund at the Wausau Red Cross office.
