MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A new poll shows that only 18 percent of Wisconsin residents believe climate change is extremely problematic in the state.

Survey respondents were most concerned about declining water levels in Wisconsin rivers, lakes and ground water. 21 percent say that is extremely problematic.

61 percent say they believe the natural environment in Wisconsin is excellent or good. And 48 percent say state government is doing extremely well or quite well in protecting the environment.

The University of Wisconsin Survey Center's Badger Poll was conducted between April 15 and April 24. The random sample survey of 521 people has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
