MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Despite all the snow and rain the state has been getting, fire danger is up across much of Wisconsin.

The Bureau of Forest Protection in the Department of Natural Resources lists the danger as extremely high in seven counties stretching from Dane and Columbia counties in the south central region to Crawford and Grant counties in the southwest.

It's very high from Marquette and Green Lake counties north to Shawano and Menominee counties.

And it's high in 10 other counties in central Wisconsin.

In all of those areas, burning of outdoor materials is not allowed at present due to the weather conditions.
