100 years ago yesterday a stormed dumped more than a foot of rain north of Wausau. That caused the Wisconsin River to flood on this day in 1912.
Flood damage was estimated at $2 million. That may not seem like a huge amount today, but sure was in 1912.
The Brokaw Paper Mill Dam was destroyed, along with the rushing water it carried down debris and countless logs.
One person was killed. Several homes and businesses were also destroyed.
