The Wausau Curling Club has raised 2.7 of the 3 million dollars needed to build their new sports facility.
The club hopes to begin construction next Spring. The site for the facility will be 16 acres on East Kent Street in Wausau. The land will house more than just curling, it will also host other sporting events, like soccer, throughout the year.
The building will house eight sheets of ice which city leaders say will bring in guests from around the country. It will be one of the biggest curling facilities in the nation once completed.
