Building a new section of the Ice Age Trail

May 10, 2013 - May 18, 2013 All Week

Aniwa, WI. Base camp will be at the Dells of the Eau Claire County Park
Three miles down, 3 miles at the ready, and 3 miles waiting in the wings. The Plover River Segment is destined to be a signature experience of the Ice Age Trail. This project features the terminal moraine itself, 2.7 miles of tread to build, extensive rock work to undertake, 200 feet of boardwalk to complete, and 6 miles of trail to expertly sign. We’ll work together alongside American Hiking Society Volunteer Vacationers and charter school students during this nine-day project. Trained crew leaders will guide you, whether you join us for a few hours, a day, or the entire project! Free camping & meals provided for volunteers who register in advance & volunteer for multiple days.
