Hodag Block Party & YMCA 5k/10k Walk/Run

The YMCA of the Northwoods is excited to host the sixth annual HODAG Run For Your Life 5K/10K run/walk. Pre-registration for the run/walk is $30 and can be completed until June 16th. Participants are guaranteed a race t-shirt if pre-registered! After June 16th registration is $35 and can be completed online at www.active.com until June 27th. Driving Directions:
From Wausau: Take Franklin Street (becomes CTH Z) east to CTH Y (14-15 miles). Go north on Y to the main park entrance (1 3/4 miles). It's after the bridge, on the left (west) side of the road.
From Antigo: Go south on US 45/WI 52 until WI 52 branches to the west (about 9 miles). Go west on 52 to CTH Y, heading south (7-8 miles), then 1 1/4 miles south on Y to the park's main entrance. It's before the bridge, on the right (west) side of the road.
From WI 29 east of Wausau: Take the Hatley (CTH Y) exit. Travel north on Y to the park's main entrance (9-10 miles). It's after the bridge, on the left (west) side of the road.
Watch for the black & yellow Ice Age Trail Event signs.

Meet at the Ice Age Trail Parking Lot on Highway 52, near Aniwa WI
The newest section of the Plover River Segment of the Ice Age Trail highlights glacial features including a boulder train (river of rocks), stone hole, and crosses the terminal moraine itself! Learn more about these unique features as we explore this new "gem" of the Ice Age Trail.

Driving Directions:
From Wausau: Go east on State Highway 52 (east Wausau Avenue) until you reach Highland & Hatchery Roads (20-21 miles). Hatchery Road, (to the left) provides access to the trail parking lot.
From Antigo: Go south on US 45/WI 52 until WI 52 branches to the west (about 9 miles). Go west on 52 until you reach Highland & Hatchery Roads (about 2 mi),The trailhead is on Hatchery Road, which is on the right (north) side of the road.
From WI 29 east of Wausau: You can follow CTH X, J, Q, or Y north (8- 12 miles) to Wisconsin 52. Once you're on 52, go east to Highland & Hatchery Roads (about 2 miles east of Hogarty). Hatchery Road (to the left) provides access to the trail parking lot.

Wausau Walk to End Alzheimer's

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the signature event to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's disease. Start a team, join a team or sponsor a team. The 1.5 or 2 mile Walk includes raffles, lunch and prizes. If you can't make it on September 7th, register today to be a virtual walker! Proceeds benefit local programs of the Alzheimer's Association.
**There is no registration fee. T-shirts are awarded to adults raising $100 or more and Champions Club medals are awarded to those raising $500 or more. Youth 18 and under receive a t-shirt after raising $35.00.
About The Greater Wisconsin Chapter:
The Greater Wisconsin Chapter serves 52 Wisconsin counties as well as Houston County in MN. We have eight Outreach Offices to help provide support services to everyone dealing with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. We are a non-profit organization that depends on contributions, grant resources and special event fundraising to support our work. Services to families are made possible by funds raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer's.

The Lactic Edge Triathlon is a swim, bike run event for individuals ages 11-60+.
The length of the Sprint and NEW Super Sprint triathlon events are as follows:

Super sprint: 200 meter swim, 4 mile bike, 2 mile run.

This event helps support our Summer Camp Program that provides a free camp experience for Wisconsin youth and adults who are Blind or Visually Impaired, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, youth with mild cognitive disabilities and youth with Type I or Type II diabetes.
Our certified 5k course winds through our scenic trails, creating a one of kind running experience. The bike rides start and end at Camp and take you through the beautiful back roads of Central Wisconsin.

The 4th Annual Eastbay Turkey Trot is Thanksgiving morning and starts at the Eastbay headquarters in Wausau, Wisconsin. Eastbay donates 100% of the registration fees to the Marathon County Hunger Coalition, an initiative of The United Way. Our goal is to help feed those in need over the holiday season and following year. Over $28,000 was donated in 2012 with just under 1,500 participants. This flat/fast course is chip timed.
