Dells of the Eau Claire Park Walk

Registration is at the enclosed shelter in the park.
Join the Dairyland Walkers on a 5K or 10K walk along the Eau Claire River featuring a spectacular rock gorge with waterfalls and rapids. Walkers may register and start walking anytime between 8 a.m. and noon, must finish by 3 p.m. Cost is free or $3 for volkssport credit. Visit www.dairylandwalkers.com for more info.

Fall Colors Hike on the Ice Age Trail

Fall colors at the Dells of the Eau Claire County Park are impressive. Add the waterfalls, rock cliffs, and stone bridges and you've found a perfect place to enjoy a crisp autumn day. Join us as we walk along the Ice Age Trail in this exceptional setting.

Driving Directions:

From Wausau: Take Franklin Street (becomes CTH Z) east to CTH Y (14-15 miles). Go north on Y to the main park entrance (1 3/4 miles). It's after the bridge, on the left (west) side of the road.

From Antigo: Go south on US 45/WI 52 until WI 52 branches to the west (about 9 miles). Go west on 52 to CTH Y, heading south (7-8 miles), then 1 1/4 miles south on Y to the park's main entrance. It's before the bridge, on the right (west) side of the road.

From WI 29 east of Wausau: Take the Hatley (CTH Y) exit. Travel north on Y to the park's main entrance (9-10 miles). It's after the bridge, on the left (west) side of the road.

Watch for the black & yellow Ice Age Trail Event signs.

Geology Hike on the Ice Age Trail

Meet at the Ice Age Trail Parking Lot on Highway 52, near Aniwa WI
The newest section of the Plover River Segment of the Ice Age Trail highlights glacial features including a boulder train (river of rocks), stone hole, and crosses the terminal moraine itself! Learn more about these unique features as we explore this new "gem" of the Ice Age Trail.

Driving Directions:

From Wausau: Go east on State Highway 52 (east Wausau Avenue) until you reach Highland & Hatchery Roads (20-21 miles). Hatchery Road, (to the left) provides access to the trail parking lot.

From Antigo: Go south on US 45/WI 52 until WI 52 branches to the west (about 9 miles). Go west on 52 until you reach Highland & Hatchery Roads (about 2 mi),The trailhead is on Hatchery Road, which is on the right (north) side of the road.

From WI 29 east of Wausau: You can follow CTH X, J, Q, or Y north (8- 12 miles) to Wisconsin 52. Once you're on 52, go east to Highland & Hatchery Roads (about 2 miles east of Hogarty). Hatchery Road (to the left) provides access to the trail parking lot.
