Students in grades 5-8 are invited to come and learn the basics of how to safely provide care for young children and also get ideas for fun activities to do with the children.
Cost: $20.00 per student, payable to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.

When registration is confirmed, paperwork will be mailed. Participants must bring the completed registration form, a signed parent consent form, and a bag lunch to the training.

Self Esteem Building Series for those with Learning Differences

This is a three meeting series where ways to increase the self esteem of those with learning differences will be taught by Dixie Weber, a professional education consultant. We will be creating a "re-framing" note book during the first meeting. Our second session will consist of strategies for home work and everyday activities as well as real personal stories being told by our guest speakers with learning differences. The third meeting will show how " to teach out side of the box" presented by Robyn Jeffords from the Achieve More Center in Sun Prairie WI. The series will cost $10, A subway card with coupons totaling $50 will be given with your registration.

Registration for Adult Reading Program and Summer Book Club

Registration for the Adult Reading Program and Summer Book Club kicks off on June 1. Participants can register at the Wausau headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau , starting June 1 and receive a free gift. At the end of each month, participants can meet and share their books with each other during a discussion at the Wausau headquarters. Adults are encouraged to read science-related fiction and non-fiction books in June, July, and August. The first meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on June 26 at the Marathon County Public Library Wausau Headquarters. June’s theme is Alkali Metals, such as sodium and potassium, which are essential for our diets if ingested in moderation. Read a fiction book with cooking as part of the plot, or non-fiction work such as cookbooks, diet books or books written by or about chefs. This event is free and open to the public.
