Why Birds Matter-IMBD Event

Leader-Telegram Lil' Buckshot Run

Join Special Olympics WI for the 32nd Annual Leader-Telegram Buckshot Run. This 2 Mile run/walk in and around beautiful Carson Park is ranked one of the top 10 races in Wisconsin. It’s family friendly yet tough enough for the hard-core competitors. Ages 5-85 typically participate. The Lil' Buckshot race is geared toward those who cannot participate in the larger 2 and 5 Mile race on Saturday, August 30, or for those who want to do both days.
Registration and check in for the Wednesday night event begins at 5:30 and the race starts at 6pm. Concessions, music and an awards ceremony will follow.
100% of money raised from the race stays locally to help 1,000 Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities train and compete in sports year-round. It’s a life changing opportunity for these kids and adults.

The Lions and Lioness Clubs of Taylor County come together to celebrate the values of our “state tree”, the sugar maple and showcase it’s prominence in Taylor County.
On April 26th, 2014 at the Taylor County Fairgrounds, in Medford Wisconsin, located at the intersection of state highways 64 and 13, the Lions & Lioness, along with support from Wisconsin Department of Tourism, Taylor County Tourism and the Medford Hotel-Motel room tax, will be highlighting their second annual Taylor County Lions & Lioness Maple Fest.

Healthy Kids Day

Join us for a great day of FREE youth and family fun. The Aspirus Branch hosts Healthy Kids Day from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on April 26. There will be an information station on camp programs, summer membership, child care, our Wausau Triathlon and financial scholarships. There will be a youth fitness challenge with prizes awarded to finishers. There will be a pitch hit run competition on our soccer field. Try the Cardio Kids class in the gym or gymnastics and tumbling in our wellness studio. We will offer open swim and aquatic activities. Child care will host craft projects and a book fair. We will have various healthy eating and safety booths throughout Aspirus Branch. Hope to see you there!

Fort McCoy Armed Forces Day Open House

Armed Forces Day Open House is a family-oriented event, free and open to the public. Many activities are planned, including personalized ID tags, camouflage face painting, a natural resources display, police and fire department equipment, an interactive marksmanship gallery and much more.
The event will take place in the post’s historic Commemorative Area. Visitors should enter the installation via Gate 15 off of Highway 21 between Sparta and Tomah, Wis. Adults should have a photo ID.
