8th Annual Tammy Gramann Fight the Cancer Ride

May 10, 2014 Ride at Noon, Dance at 8pm

Chelsea Conservation Club, Medford Wi
Registration begins at 10-11:45am. Ride leaves at noon. Anything with wheels welcome. All proceeds to benefit the Cancer Care unit at Memorial Health care center in Medford, Wi. Dance starting at 8pm following the ride at the conservation clubhouse. Music by dj Silence Entertainment. Lots of raffles and tons of fun.

The festival is a spud-filled day of activities such as a parade, a French Fry Frenzy, the YMCA Couch Potato Race, Little Lit’l Miss and Lit’l Mr. Tator Tot Potato Sack Outfit Contest, a potato salad cook-off and so much more. There is a historic and education component, food vendors and live music throughout the afternoon into the evening providing entertainment for all ages.

Marathon Fun Run Motorcycle Ride and Kickball Tournament

Veteran's Park, Marathon, WI
The Marathon Police Department in partnership with the Marathon Lions Club will host the 13th annual Motorcycle Fun Run and Kickball Tournament benefitting Special Olympics and other local charities.
Motorcycle Ride-Registration begins at 8:00am, driver brief at 9:45am, ride leaves at 10:00am. Route is over 120 relaxing miles through Marathon and Portage counties with 2 stops. Lunch and dinner provided. $25 minimum pledge per driver, $20 per passenger. Live music by Led West at 7:00pm. Silent auction, 50/50 raffles and buckets.
Kickball Tournament- double elimination, $15 entry fee per person, t-shirt and dinner included. Limited to the first 10 teams registered, 10-14 person teams, 10 people on the field during play, must have a minimum or 4 women on the field at all times. Must be 15 years old and up. Games begin at 8:45am, 45 minute long games, new games start at the top of the hour.

"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" at Rosholt High School

The Rosholt High School Drama Department presents the musical "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers". Based on the 1954 film, the musical tells the story of a large family of rambunctious brothers living on a ranch in 1850's Oregon and the humorous and romantic complications that ensue as they search for wives. Tickets are $9.00 for adults and $7.00 for seniors and K-12 students and will be available at the door beginning one hour prior to performances.

Ali Amr, “Qanun” Player and Vocalist to Perform on April 25 at the UWMC Auditorium

Ali Amr, an award-winning qanun performer and vocalist, will be performing at the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County Auditorium on April 25 at 7:00 pm. The qanun is a traditional Middle Eastern instrument, similar to a hammered dulcimer, zither, or autoharp. Ali has explored a variety of musical genres and has developed a unique style that combines traditional Middle Eastern music with elements of hip hop, jazz, and soul. He has been recognized with numerous national and international awards. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston he now resides in New York City and tours with his own group, “The Experiment."

The KIDS from Wisconsin are returning to Edgar on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at 7:00pm. While new to some people from Edgar when they visited us last August, the KIDS were organized in 1969 and have traveled the State each summer performing at many fairs, conventions and festivals. Annually these talented, young people from across Wisconsin audition for this popular group. The concert theme may change each year but the singing and dancing skills remain incredible. Tickets are $20 each. Reserved seating is again available through; search Edgar or KIDS from Wisconsin. Depending on advanced sales, remaining seats for general admission tickets may be available but a sellout crowd is expected.
