Western Taylor County Tourism, CBA, Northland Baptist Church & Lions and Lioness have put together a fun filled weekend to showcase Western Taylor County businesses, organizations and beauty by greatly expanding the June Dairy Days event.

A full weekend of festivity for people of all ages

Big Green Derby

This is a recycled boat race on the scenic Wisconsin River in Wausau. This event brings people together to celebrate our community assets, spur innovation, teamwork, creativity, and promote green living.

Our theme - Whatever Floats Your Boat means just that – as long as it’s made of reused or recycled materials, it qualifies. So get your creativity flowing to build some wacky vessels with crazy themes!

Phelps Scarecrow Fest

Fourth Annual Scarecrow Fest. Start the day with the family friendly "Tryathlon". Walk through the Scarecrows and Decorated Pumpkins, even bring your own to enter in the contests, including a Largest Pumpkin contest. Browse the Craft Fair, Fine Arts/Quilt Display and the Street Rod and Corvette Car Show. Enjoy Great Food including Taffy Apples and Free Chili and Deep Fried Pickles. Refreshments available. Then try your hand at Pumpkin Chuckin' into North Twin Lake, watch the Sea Planes land and take off, wander through the Antique Tractors, participate in the Robin Hood Contest or Frozen T-Shirt game, have the kids try Trout Fishing and other games, or take a Hay Ride. 7th Annual Strawberry Fest Scale Model Contest

7th Annual Free Strawberry Fest Model Contest, Waupaca Recreation Center, Waupaca, WI. Hours: Saturday, June 15, 10 AM to 5 PM,

Contestants model cars, trucks, ships, aircraft, trains, scenery, structures, Legos and miscellaneous. Come to view the entries, or enter your favorite models. Everyone is welcome to enter the contest. There are junior and adult classes to encourage young modelers. Entries much be accompanied by a completed official entry blank. Entry fees for 3 entries is $5.00 for juniors/$10.00 for adults. There is an additional $1.00 per entry over three entries and no limit on the number of entries per person. Contestants can register models between 8 AM and Noon.

Categories include 1) automotive, 2) truck, 3) military, aircraft, ships, 4) trains – cars and engines. There is an additional Lego & Miscellaneous category for juniors, and for adults Photos and Miscellaneous. Additional details are available at www.wamrltd.com
