Burgers Bar & Grill Cheese Curd Throwdown & Eat'n Contest

This is a 1st Annual Food Drive for the Iron County Food Bank. BBG will be hosting a cheese curd contest which will have at least 5 Cheese Curd Manufactures seeing who has the best cheese curds in Wisconsin. Voting will be done by customers who bring a donation or a nonperishable food item. The Cheese Curd Eat'n Contest will have at least 8 competitors to see who can eat 1/2 pound of cheese curds in the fastest time. Competitors must bring a donation or nonperishable food item as well. Let the Best Cow Win!

Entry Fee: Adults: $10.00 for the first 20 models, and $1.00 for each additional model. Juniors & Intermediates: $5.00 for all entries. Each entrant receives a raffle ticket

The Glue Crew is a non-profit group, with all proceeds from this event going to Wausau area charities. Thanks to your participation over the years, the Crew has donated over $7,000 to deserving groups. We couldn’t do it without your support! Thank you!
National Championship Musky Open

The largest amateur Musky Tournament in existence. This extremely popular annual event draws anglers from all over the world. In 2013 a record number of 1,222 anglers participated. Prove your skill or just come along for the fun. This is a great family oriented tournament from the expert anglers to the little ones. Everyone is welcome to particpate

Plein Air Painting Workshop and Competition

Wisconsin Concrete Park Phillips, WI
Plein Air Painting Workshop & Competition The Wisconsin Art Environment Consortium will again sponsor a Plein Air Workshop and Competition at several of its art environments throughout Wisconsin. The workshop instructor at Wisconsin Concrete Park, Bob Tarrell, is a long-time art professor at Edgewood College and a Plein Air painter, and will introduce his style of painting “in open air” for all ages. The Saturday workshop starts with a morning demonstration, followed by hours of painting & ends with critiques. Easels & materials are provided. All plein air paintings done at the park both days are eligible to enter into the competition for $965 in cash prizes. Judging will start at 4:30pm Sunday with an artists’ reception at the Friends of Fred Smith Studio. All ages are welcome to join in the fun of painting in plein air. Winning paintings from the competition at Wisconsin Concrete Park will also be eligible to compete statewide with paintings from other sites in an online judging on the Kohler Foundation website and a second round of cash prizes.
