Ministry Hospice Plant Sale - Stevens Point

Date(s): 5/9/2014, 5/10/2014

Friday 8am - 6pm, Saturday 8am - 1pm

2501 Main Street, East Parking Lot, Stevens Point
Get your garden annuals while supporting a vital community service! Ministry Home Care - Hospice Services is again hosting their annual plant sale and quilt raffle on the Friday and Saturday of Mother's Day weekend. All proceeds benefit patients and families cared for by Ministry Home Care - Hospice Services.

A variety of flowers, herbs, and vegetables will be available. These quality plants are generously provided by Jack's Greenhouse in Hancock, WI. Cash, check and charge will be accepted.

"Garden Path," a gorgeous hand-made quilt (89" x 107" - queen size), donated by the Golden Needle Quilt Guild, will be raffled off on Saturday, May 10 at 12:30pm. Tickets may be purchased before or during the sale. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Need not be present to win.

Hospice care is a service to support people by providing end-of-life care when the patient’s condition is considered terminal and the patient is no longer receiving curative treatment. A terminal diagnosis is defined as the patient having six months or less to live if the condition runs its normal course. The hospice team works with patients to manage pain and symptoms so that their remaining time may be spent in peace and dignity.

Dedicated to quality of life, hospice offers a support system of professional staff and volunteers who assist the patient and their family in meeting their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Hospice care stresses the importance of human needs that go beyond the physical care of the patient. Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death; hospice affirms life and regards dying as a normal process.
