Blues in the Schools with Bobby Messano

Date(s): 12/10/2014

Noon - 1pm

UW Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Ave, Wausau WI 54401
The Great Northern Blues Society (GNBS) of Wausau, WI is pleased to announce that they will be hosting 19-time Grammy Award nominee and Blues Hall of Fame member, Bobby Messano, at a Blues-In-School (BITS) event to take place from 12 noon to 1:00 pm.
Bobby will be playing at the UWMC Campus in the UW Center for Civic Engagement, which is the large, new theater located at 625 Stewart Avenue. All are welcome to attend this free event.
BITS is an arts program fostered by The Blues Foundation of Memphis, Tennessee. Various affiliates such as GNBS, which is a Wisconsin 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, are delivering performances designed to expose and inspire our youth to the power and cultural significance of this uniquely American musical form.
The society is delighted to host world class entertainers such as Mr. Messano at no cost to attendees. We are able to do this with generous contributions from members, and especially our corporate sponsors. It is their generosity that makes events like this possible.
Bobby will also be playing on that evening at the Intermission Bar, 325 Fourth St. in downtown Wausau. There will be no cover charge for this show as well.
Booby Messano will be back in the Wausau area where he will appear with four other great bands at GNBS’ 16th Annual Blues Café event on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Rothschild Pavilion.
For more information, visit the society’s website at www.gnbs.org or the GNBS Facebook Page.

6pm - 9:30pm

The Howard Johnson, Wausau, WI
Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two "mature" cable-access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Larry Biddle dated one and married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called The Kitchen Witches, the insults are flung harder than the food! Dolly's long-suffering TV-producer son Stephen tries to keep them on track, but as long as Dolly's dressing room is one inch closer to the set than Isobel's, it's a losing battle, and the show becomes a rating smash as Dolly and Isobel top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer!

43th ANNUAL NATIVITY PAGEANT

Date(s): 12/6/2014

7pm

Queen of The Holy Rosary Shrine Necedah WI 54646
The Nativity Pageant at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Mediatrix of Peace Shrine in Necedah has been performed each year since 1971.
This accurate and historic presentation of the Nativity Story is staged outdoors with a large cast in colorful costumes, along with many animals.
The re-enacted Story begins in Nazareth where it was announced that all were to travel to Bethlehem for a census. It then portrays the cold four day/three-night journey to Bethlehem and the difficulties Mary and Joseph encounter in that crowded city. Finally, it re-lives the Birth of Jesus in a cave outside of the city.

Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays Nov. 28 through Dec. 21, 5pm - 8pm & Christmas Day 2pm - 6pm

Community Building at Rosholt Fair Park
Rosholt High School Family Career and Community Leaders of America will once again host the Enchanted Forest, a long standing holiday tradition, in the Community Building at Rosholt Fair Park. The Forest will open on Friday, November 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will continue to be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. until Sunday, December 21. Santa will be visiting every Saturday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. And this year, The Enchanted Forest will have a special opening on Christmas from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

This is the 20th year for the Enchanted Forest which was originally held in the Center Point Mall in Stevens Point. With the demise of the mall, the Forest found a new home in the vintage barn at the top of the hill in Rosholt’s Fair Park. Last year there were more than 100 decorated trees provided by Rosholt High School FCCLA members as well as various community groups and individuals. In addition to the indoor display, the roadways through the Fair Park are also adorned with lights and other holiday displays.

There is no admission charge for the Enchanted Forest, but donations are encouraged. The funds generated are divided between the Rosholt Fair Association, FCCLA, and used for operating expenses.
For more information call the Rosholt School District FCCLA at 715-677-4541
