A Benefit for Jesse and Alex Matushak
On November 3rd the Hazlehurst home of Jesse Matushak and his 7 year old son Alex was destroyed in a fire. Without insurance, this means the total loss of everything they owned. The community has already sprung to action, giving the family crucial assistance in this challenging time such as clothing and a temporary place to live, but in order to help put the pieces back together friends of the Matushak family have organized a benefit concert and spaghetti feed.
Island City Lanes in Minocqua will host the benefit, which will begin with an 8 pin bowling tournament with pay outs for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. One begins at 12pm, another at 2pm, $10 per person. RSVP to Island City Lanes to join, 715-356-7779. A spaghetti dinner begins at 4pm. A $10 suggested donation for adults and a $5 suggested donation for children is greatly appreciated. The event continues with fundraising baskets donated by local businesses, for which drawings are at 8pm (need not be present to win), and silent auctions ending at 8pm. Live music by Cougar Bait and Kyle Mertz starts at 9pm. The party will go all night, with drink specials throughout the event. Monetary donations are being collected at all US Banks and can be made to the Jesse Matushak Fund.
