You may no longer have to get a painful shot to get vaccinated.
The FDA is in its final stages of approving a painless vaccine patch.
Studies show, the small patch contains about 300 micro-needles that dissolve into your skin.
Immunization against diseases like the flu, measles, and small pox could soon be given this way.
A Wausau doctor supports the invention, saying this may produce a better immune response than an injection.
"Our skin has the best memory for an immune reaction, its been controversial for a long time, how good our response is. The skin gives actually more response," says Dr. Hilary Bingol, MD with Aspirus.
Tests on mice have shown the patch supports this theory.
She says the patch could be available as early as this fall.

There are questions to be asked here: What are the names of all the actual substances which will dissolve in the skin? Is there any serious research done regarding the longterm effects after the substances have dissolved in the skin? Are there, for example, cancerogenic or mutagenic effects?
