A weekend-long glassblowing course is being offered Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28–29, through University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education Art and Culture Outreach.

“Introduction to Glassblowing” will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days, taught by visiting artist Matt Piepenbrok, a 2009 UWSP alumnus.

Participants will receive hands-on instruction of techniques such as marvering, blocking and shaping as well as using a blowpipe, punties, jacks, tweezers and shears. Participants will create and understand fundamental creative paperweights and blown vessels.

The two-day course costs $299. Space is limited, so register early. For more information on this class and others offered UWSP Continuing Education, go to www.uwsp.edu/conted or call 800-898-9472 or 715-346-3838.
