Weekend Glassblowing Workshop Offered at UWSP
A weekend-long glassblowing course is being offered Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28–29, through University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education Art and Culture Outreach.

A weekend-long glassblowing course is being offered Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 28–29, through University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Continuing Education Art and Culture Outreach.
“Introduction to Glassblowing” will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both days, taught by visiting artist Matt Piepenbrok, a 2009 UWSP alumnus.
No experience is necessary for the class, which will cover beginning techniques, tools and shop safety.
Participants will receive hands-on instruction of techniques such as marvering, blocking and shaping as well as using a blowpipe, punties, jacks, tweezers and shears. Participants will create and understand fundamental creative paperweights and blown vessels.
