With more than 65,000 square miles, traveling to every corner of the state of Wisconsin is no simple task.
But a New Berlin family is taking the challenge, traveling to all 72 counties in just one week.
On Sunday Tim Johnson and his boys Ben, 11, and Noah, 6, began a road trip like none before.
"I thought you know what lets make a summer vacation out of it and go tour every county.. then I found out there were 72 counties in Wisconsin so I thought lets make a contest out of it and see if we can do it in one week," Johnson said.
The Johnson family, save for Tim's wife and daughter who opted to stay home, are stopping at every county courthouse, averaging about 11 per day.
"It's all through map quest and my oldest son ben he's my navigator and he tells me what streets to turn on and how many miles and what have you," he said.
The family stops on average every 45 minutes and have plenty of opportunities to stretch their legs, but the boys say sitting in the van so long has been the worst part.
But Johnson says it's worth it and that people are taking notice.
The Johnson family have their own facebook fan page at Johnson's Wisconsin Tour.. where you can check out their photos and follow their route.
They began the tour in Racine County and will end in Sauk County on Saturday.
