The Summertime is all about getting out and being active and for many kids that means playing sports.

This Summer, there are plenty of options for all sports lovers, with many clinics, youth teams, and week-long camps for new athletes.

Team organizers at the YMCA think sports teams are a great way to keep kids busy well into the Fall. Aaron Fiedler from the YMCA says, "It gives kids something to do. It's a great option for child care rather than putting your child right in child care without anything to do. This will give them an option to play sports and learn some teamwork."

Sport's camps at the Wausau Parks Department fill up fast too. Some parents signed their little ones up to teach them about being active.

One mom says, "I think it's important to be healthy and introduce them to things so they can find something that's fun and continue with that activity."

But the kids seem to like playing sports for other reasons. 4-year-old Cade says, "I like it because we play a lot of sports and I make a lot of friends." While 5-year-old Sam says, "I like it because I always make touchdowns!"
