This week three Wausau swimming pools and the Marathon Park Splash Pad are offering youth the chance to get out and swim for free thanks to the Wausau Noon Optimists.
July 25 to July 29, kids 17 and under are invited to Kaiser Pool, (900 E. Bridge Street), Memorial Pool, (505 Memorial Park Road) Schulenburg Pool, (1533 Summit Street) and the Splash Pad at Marathon Park for a free swim between 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
This is just one of the ways members of the club give back.
"The kids are our future," says Wausau Noon Optimists club member Scott Campbell. "We try to help the kids in any way that we can. Not just through swimming and our club, but scholarships, other youth activities that we do throughout the year."
Parents with nonswimming children are encouraged to ask pool staff for lifejackets for their children to wear while they are at the pool.
City of Wausau residents may purchase season passes for $20 for Youth and Adult or $50 for a Family pass.
