“With kids home all summer finding things for them do can be tricky. The museum not only offers play but educational programs for endless amounts of fun!” said Katy Matthai, Executive Director for the Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum. During the months of June, July and August, children and families will have the chance to take advantage of CWCM’s four summer opportunities.
Come Play at CWCM
Families are encouraged to interactively play, learn and grow within the museum Tuesday through Sunday. Explore the new imagination stations and expanded discovery exhibits, along with hundreds of crafts found in the Create-It! Art Room! Use your imagination and enter a world of creativity.
Whether it’s a rainy or scorching summer day take advantage of unlimited visits to CWCM through August 31. Summer Membership start at $40.
Discovery Days Workshops
Discovery Days Workshops are designed for young people to build on personal interests and talents. Participants both young and young-at-heart will walk away with new skills and growing self-confidence. CWCM has partnered with community members such as Polito’s Pizza and Dash of Delicious for Kids Chef Week, featuring how to throw pizza dough and how to decorate cupcakes. Other workshops include Great Outdoors Week, Green Week, Art Explorers Week, Healthy Heroes Week and lastly Insect Mania and all that Slithers Week. All workshops begin at 10am and are approximately 40 minutes in length. Workshops take place twice a week during the months of June and August, great for ages ten and under.
July Messy Arts Month
Come for some messy fun in the Create-It! Art Room! Activities include marble painting, shaving cream art, fly swatter painting and sidewalk drawings. Parents you won’t have to worry because CWCM will take care of all of the clean up. Registration is not required; all activities are free with regular museum admission.
CWCM’s Kick-Off to Summer Fun
On Thursday, June 16 families are invited to a campfire-style sing-along with Fran McKinney, Screen Porch Music and Smokey Bear will be making an appearance to discuss campfire safety. Free with regular museum admission; drop-ins welcome.
