Day one of this year's Balloon Glow and Rally and Big Bull Falls BBQ Rib Fest is in the books.
The annual event continues through the weekend at the Wausau Municipal Airport.
It includes plane rides for the kids, live music, a beer tent, and daily hot air balloon launches.
But its organizer says the smell of barbecue entices many to keep coming back.
"We have five rib vendors and they come from all over. We have one from Texas, two from Ohio, Chicago and Arizona," Kari Rasmussen, of Wausau Area Events said.
Along with an assortment of barbecue, foodies can feast on corn on the cob, cheese curds and egg rolls.
The weekend long celebration also includes Chalkfest on Saturday. It takes place downtown along the 400 Block.
