WSAW-TV, the Gray Television owned, CBS-affiliate in Wausau, Wisconsin, is seeking an experienced anchor/producer to lead our weekend news team. We’re looking for a leader—someone who doesn’t hesitate to make decisions and someone who can work closely with the rest of the team to create engaging newscasts. The person who fills this position will also report three days a week. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess a desire to grow professionally and be tapped to fill-in for our main anchors.

Duties will include creating unique content for Newscasts and New Media Platforms from conception to completion. This includes enterprising story ideas, shooting and editing video, writing and producing stories, and live on-air delivery of content. The position also includes writing for the web.

Requirements of the position include: excellent news judgment, strong broadcast and AP writing skills, and a degree in Journalism or Communications or equivalent work experience. Applicants should have a strong work ethic, the ability to multi-task, work under and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Avid iNews, Grass Valley Edius, Sony XDCAM cameras and Clickability Dynamic Site Platform preferred.

Position: Technical Media Producer
Department: News Production & Operations

WSAW-TV, the CBS Affiliate in Wausau, WI has an immediate opening for a full-time Technical Media Producer. This position includes master control, and some newscast directing duties. The Technical Media Producer has the responsibility of monitoring on-air signals, ingesting daily programming and commercials in our new state-of-the-art control center, through file-based and satellite delivery systems. You also will be responsible for operating live and pre-recorded television and web video productions as assigned.

Requirements:
Applicants should have strong computer skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, and an understanding of live television operations and production. Previous master control experience and/or newscast directing a plus. Experience with Harris or Sundance Automation a plus. Experience with Ross Vision Switchers or Ross Overdrive also a plus. However, we are willing to train the right candidate.

This is a full-time position requiring the flexibility to work mornings, nights, weekends and changing schedules.

Duties will include producing content for our 2.5 hour morning newscast, Sunrise 7, and for all our digital platforms. Opportunities for on-air reporting could be included for the right candidate.

POSITION: Chief Meteorologist

WSAW-TV, Gray Television’s CBS Affiliate in Wausau, Wisconsin, is seeking a Chief Meteorologist for a full-time, on-air position. This is our first Chief opening in 17 years. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the News Director to set the direction of North Central Wisconsin's Local Weather Authority.

Responsibilities will include producing and anchoring daily weather broadcasts on our evening newscasts, for weather cut-ins and live coverage during breaking/severe weather. Forecasts will also be produced for multiple platforms, including our 24/7 weather channel, wsaw.com and our social media sites.

The ideal candidate must be able to present a dynamic, compelling, easy to understand weathercast, and will embrace online/social tools for expanding weather coverage. Must be able to cover severe weather with urgency and accuracy on all platforms. Our meteorologists also report in the field. Knowledge of the Weather Central graphics system will be considered a plus. At least 4 years of experience as a television meteorologist required.
