7th District Candidates to Debate Live at NewsChannel 7's Studio

The candidates in one of the most hotly contested political races in our state will take part in a debate right here at NewsChannel 7.

Republican Sean Duffy and Democrat Julie Lassa will be in our studio for a live prime-time debate on Sunday, October 17th at 7 p.m.

The candidates officially came to an agreement on the debate Monday afternoon.

It will be the first televised debate between the two candidates to replace retiring congressman David Obey.

The debate will also be aired throughout the 7th district on WEAU-TV in Eau Claire, KDLH in Duluth, Minn., WJMC radio in Rice Lake, and nationally on CSPAN.

    where is the amazing race? who cares about liars. we can see them on every back stabbing commercial. let watch something exciting

    Let's hope there is a better format than the recent gubernatorial debate. The losers of that debate were the viewers since the format did not allow any follow-ups and the lackluster questioners stuck to their prepared questions and never asked any follow-ups of their own. It was a dreadful format and any debate using that format is a complete waste of time and effort!

    And again, it is JUST the Democratic & Republican candidates...WHY????? I know there have to be others out there - lets get them involved as well!!! The "People" are sick and tired of the same old stories in politics! WE demand change! Enough with the "special intrest groups" and the ones that have all the money - Show us ALL candidates so we may make INFORMED decisions as to who is the best choice for the job!!!!
