We don't do this job for awards, but it's a nice pat on the back you we do get them.
The latest honor for NewsChannel 7 comes from the Military Reporters and Editors Association.
"Our Local Heroes," our series that pays tribute to local members of the military and their families won the MRE's nationwide journalism contest in the small market television division.
In their comments, the judges wrote "Our Local Heroes is commendable for its commitment to recognizing men and women in the region who have served in the military, whether during a conflict or in peace time."
