Mark Holley comes to WSAW after working at WEAU in Eau Claire for almost 6 years. Mark was born in Pottstown, PA, but after graduating from Owen J. Roberts High School moved to Wisconsin to attend UWSP before transferring to Mississippi State. He received a degree in Broadcast Meteorology in 2003. He loves everything about Wisconsin: Packers, Badgers, brats, farming, making maple syrup, cheese, snow and milk!
Mark's passion for weather came at an early age when he predicted snow days for classmates in 2nd grade. After the Blizzard of 1996 when 30 inches of snow fell in Pottstown , Mark knew a career in weather was calling. Mark received his National Weather Association (NWS) seal of approval in 2009. Mark's love for weather, farming and other outdoor activities makes him a perfect fit for NewsChannel 7 Sunrise.
Mark has a wide rage of hobbies. His favorite quote is "Other than my wife, hunting and fishing is my life". He married
the former Jacklyn Manshaem, a farmer's daughter from Chetak, WI on September 22, 2012. He grew all the sunflowers needed for the wedding. Mark and Jackie have a lab named Dixie who loves to chase birds and play tug of war. You can catch Mark on local trout streams in the spring, hunting and coaching football in the fall, and making maple syrup in March and April. Every July Mark wrestles pigs in the world's largest pig wrestling competition in Caldron Falls, WI.
If you have weather, hunting, fishing or gardening questions, Mark would be more than happy answer them for you. Mark.Holley@wsaw.com or @weatherholley on twitter.
