Kenny Morales joined the NewsChannel 7 team in February of 2014 as a sports videojournalist.
Kenny is a 2013 graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he majored in Radio/Television.
Before coming to WSAW, Kenny worked as a multimedia journalist for his college newscast. He also interned with UCF Athletics Video Services and NBC-affiliate WESH 2 News in Orlando.
While in Florida, Kenny had the opportunity to report on several historical sporting events, including UCF football’s upset of Baylor in the Fiesta Bowl and minor league soccer club Orlando City’s move from the USL to MLS.
However, Kenny’s favorite event to cover was Florida Gulf Coast University’s Cinderella run in the 2013 NCAA tournament. Growing up in Fort Myers, Florida aka “Dunk City” and attending FGCU for a year, Kenny says he had never seen the community of Southwest Florida come together like they did to support the team.
It’s because of stories like FGCU’s that Kenny believes sports are truly special and go beyond highlights.
When he’s not covering sports, Kenny enjoys hitting the gym, playing basketball and cheering on UCF football, Duke basketball and Orlando City soccer. He’s also an avid music fan and loves checking out concerts and music festivals.
Kenny is excited to explore everything that central Wisconsin has to offer.
