Shannon Shepherd came to NewsChannel 7 in May of 2012 as a Sports reporter.

She is a 2012 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, located outside of Buffalo, where she covered the Bonnies' Basketball teams in their March Maddness runs. She also hosted an interview series titled "Out Of Bounds with Shannon Shepherd" where she interviewed collegiate athletes of every sport.

Her work resulted in her winning the Buffalo Broadcast Association's Tim Russert Medal of Merit which is given annually to the best college journalist in Western New York.

Shepherd is a native of Ashburn, Virginia.
