Erik is a familiar face to Central Wisconsin audiences. He began his television broadcasting career in Wausau back in 1991. In October of 2009, he joined the staff of NewsChannel 7 and currently does the product testing series "Is It Worth It?" and the collector's showcase "What'cha Got?".

Erik grew up in the city of Loyal in Clark County and later attended college at both the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he studied broadcast communications.

During his almost 2 decades of reporting in NorthCentral Wisconsin, Erik's earned a number of awards recognizing his reporting from both the Associated Press and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. In 2007, The Division of Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point named Erik its Alumnus of the Year in recognition of the number of years he's spent reporting the news in Central Wisconsin.

Erik is married to Vickie Jacobitz. Long-time viewers may remember her from her days on Channel 7 during the 1990's. They have 2 daughters - Olivia and Elena.
