Julia Fello joined Newchannel 7 in August 2008 as a reporter. In April 2010 she was named morning news anchor of Sunrise 7 Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

She is a graduate of Elmhurst College with a B.A. degree in Communication Studies and attended DePaul University's Master's program in Journalism.

Julia started in the news business as a runner for CNN at the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. The experience inspired her to have a career in broadcast journalism.

Julia kept busy throughout college, interning in Chicago for NBC 5 WMAQ-TV and Fox Chicago News WFLD-TV. She worked for both stations after the internships. First, she worked for NBC 5 WMAQ-TV as a production assistant. While working there, she covered anything from breaking news on the assignment desk, to going out and field producing stories. Julia then worked for Fox Chicago News as a production assistant, field producer and live web talent for the Fox-owned website LiveNewsCameras.com. As live web talent, Julia was on the site about four hours at a time showing viewers local, national and worldwide events streaming live.

Born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, growing up near the Badger State made it easy for her family to visit Lake Geneva and Milwaukee several times each year. She is proud to now call Wausau her home, and works hard to report stories affecting our community.
