Margo is a native of Milwaukee, and a graduated of the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in English and a minor in Chicano Studies.
Before joining WSAW in November 2007 as a News Reporter, she worked simultaneously for several media companies in Milwaukee: Weekend Assignment Editor at WISN-TV (ABC Affiliate), Reporter/ Producer for Milwaukee Public Television (PBS Affiliate) specifically for a news and public affairs show "Black Nouveau" and in the Promotions Department for Entercom Enterprises (they own 3 local radio stations 103.7 KISS FM, 99.1 WMYX & WSSP Sports Radio 1250). Thanks to Margo's quick thinking WISN won the Milwaukee Press Club's 1st Place Best Coverage of a Breaking New Story in 2005.

In college she was heavily involved with media. She wrote for the student newspaper--The Daily Cardinal, and served as Editor of the multicultural Student newspaper--Discourse. She honed her skills in writing, interviewing and editing co-hosting a show for WSUM-FM, the campus radio station and as a news reporter for WYOU--a cable station. She also interned at WISN-TV, WKOW-TV and did public relations for the UW Sports Information Office.

She is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and actively volunteers in the community. She has traveled extensively throughout, the United States and around the world. In addition to traveling, she enjoys singing, reading, watching sports, and making jewelry.

Margo is looking forward to enjoying more of the beauty of the Northwoods!
