Amy Pflugshaupt joined NewsChannel 7 in September 2007. She's reported and has also anchored and produced Sunrise 7 and NewsChannel 7 at Noon. Recently her schedule has made a complete flip - as she now anchors NewsChannel 7 at 5, 6, and 10. While she likes being behind the desk, her favorite thing is to bring you Live Reports from the field (her favorite being reporting from area fairs).
When Amy is not at work, she enjoys coaching All-star Cheerleading at Cheer Alliance Elite in Wausau, playing sand volleyball, hiking (especially up Rib Mountain), watching college basketball, cheering for the Indianapolis Colts & the Green Bay Packers. She also loves cuddling with her cat - Tinka Belle, raising & showing livestock, and playing in the dirt out on her family's farm. She hates living so far from her family (which are all in Northern Indiana), but says she is blessed that they are so supportive of her career. Amy is a proud FFA member and 10-year 4-H member so she takes a lot of pride promoting agriculture and the importance of the family farm.
Amy is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Communications and a minor in Animal Sciences. She was awarded Best Live On-scene Reporting from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association for her coverage of the Sept. 2010 Floods in NorthCentral Wisconsin. She was also proud to be a media spokesperson for the Local Susan G. Komen Foundation's Race for a Cure.
"I'm overjoyed to be able to share this experience with you as we explore all the beautiful wonders that are out there past NorthCentral Wisconsin." - Amy
