Vilas County will open their snowmobile trails Monday, December 12 at 12 p.m.

With minimal snow, the use of caution is strongly recommended. Trails are in early season condition and riders may encounter rough areas, icy patches and wet segments in low-lying areas. More snow is needed to enable area snowmobile clubs to provide the well groomed world class trails Vilas County is noted for. It is not recommended to cross area lakes until the route across the lake is clearly marked.

Currently, gates remain closed. Early snow may be temping but riders are cautioned not to go behind gates. Please respect private landowners and other outdoor users.
