(Press Release) Section A of the snowmobile trails in Langlade County will open, with restrictions, effective at 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012.

Trails south of Highway J to Highway 45, along with trails south of Highway’s V and O, and also south and west of Polar will be closed due to lack of adequate snow cover. Trails south of these areas are considered dangerous and riders are warned to stay off these trails. Anyone riding on closed trails will be prosecuted.

Trail conditions in the wooded northern and eastern parts of the county will be in fair condition. Trails in open fields and across lakes may be drifted and also lacking in snow cover; please use extreme caution in these areas.

Also, ATV’s are not allowed on these snowmobile trails until January 23, 2012 and when the temperature is greater than 28° F.
