Both Long and Short Track speed skaters from New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan and around the Nation came to Wisconsin to compete, take home medals, and possibly win the cup at the Greenheck Field House in Weston for the 2nd year in a row.
The skill level, skating group and goals of the skaters determines what competition they will compete in.
"They hold this every year. This is the US National age group then there's American Cub which is a series of races throughout the year. This is the finals and the top compete in a final here," says Ian Quinn, a Short Track Speed Skater.
Some skaters even compete Internationally. Skaters who competed Sunday included Category 1 Long Track Speed Skaters, Junior Short Track Skaters and more.
The age groups ranging up to 70-year-olds also competed Sunday after the Junior Short Trackers. The competition lasted from 8 am until 5 pm both Saturday and Sunday. The location of the competition is subject to change next year.
