The past three years has not been kind to the Wausau East football program.
The Lumberjacks have only won a combined two games in those three years. But the jacks are hoping a change at the top will lead to a better record.
Steve Jung took over the head coaching job this spring after Tom McCormick resigned.
"This summer we implemented a more structured weight program. Trying to increase the tempo in there so when we came out here we have an idea what it means to move on the field. Winning is a learned behavior and we need to learn how to win." Jung said.
He's brought a new mentality to the Lumberjacks program that he believes will pay dividends in the long run.
"Its been a little more intense, its a little more uptempo. We've been going harder at practice, and he is bringing a good attitude for us to play better and with confidence." said Senior Mark McCormick
"We just want to prove something to everyone out there that has seen us play badly the last couple years. Really looking to trying to make this a good season." added Senior Ryan Pitney
