The dates, times and locations are set for Level 4 of the WIAA football playoffs. These are the semifinals...one more win and it's on to Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.
Merrill vs Kimberly, at DC Everest, Friday 11/13, 7pm
Kimberly is the 2-time defending D2 state champ. They're averaging nearly 43 points per game in the playoffs. Merrill had never won a playoff game before this season. The Blue Jays have allowed a total of 15 points in the playoffs.
Edgar vs Hurley, at Chippewa Falls, Friday 11/13, 7pm
Edgar has 10 shutouts in 12 games, including playoffs. The Wildcats are looking to get back to Madison after last year's championship game loss to Stratford...their last title was in 2001. Hurley is in the playoffs for the 15th time in 16 years, and it's the furthest they've been since finishing runner-up in 1995.
McDonell Central vs Gilman, at Rice Lake, Friday 11/13, 7pm
This is a rematch of last year's Level 2 playoff game, which Gilman won 22-14. This is the 4th time in 5 years Gilman has reached Level 4, finishing runner-up in 2005, winning it all in 2006 and losing in Level 4 in 2007. This is the furthest the Macks have advance in 6 playoff appearances.
