STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team is ranked No. 15 in the D3Hoops.com NCAA Division III preseason poll.

The Pointers return three starters from a team that finished with an overall record of 20-8 (12-4 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and reached the NCAA Division III tournament last year.

Tyler Tillema (Randolph, WI/Randolph) was a First-Team All WIAC selection at the end of the 2011-12 season. Tillema was fourth in the WIAC in scoring with 17.3 points per game. He also placed third in assists at 4.46 per game and fourth in steals with 1.54 per game.

Jordan Giordano was a member of the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team. He led the WIAC in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 44.6 percent from behind the arc while adding 8.6 points per game.

Trevor Hass (New London, WI/New London/Augustana (SD)) started all 28 games last year and averaged 9.1 points per game. He finished third on the team in three-point field goals made (47), third in total assists (43), and fourth in total rebounds (105) and scoring.

The Pointers play the annual Purple/ Gold Game November 7 in the Quandt Fieldhouse at 7 p.m. There will be a pregame cookout from 5:15-6:45 p.m.
