STEVENS POINT, Wis. - UW-Stevens Point senior Tyler Tillema (Randolph, WI/Randolph) will play on the East All-Star Team in the 2014 Reese's Division III College All-Star game, as announced on Wednesday.
The game, part of the Division III Final Four, will be played at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, prior to the NCAA Division III championship game at 5:30 p.m. The teams are composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight regions in Division III and two seniors selected by online voting on D3hoops.com.
Tillema was named the West District Player of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the West Region Player of the Year by D3hoops.com and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Player of the Year . In his senior season, Tillema led UW-Stevens Point to a 28-2 record and the WIAC regular season and tournament championships by topping the team in scoring (20.1 ppg), assists (115) and blocks (27), while tying for the team lead in rebounding (5.0 rpg). He also ranked in the top 10 in the WIAC in eight different categories.
Tillema is joined on the East All-Star Team by Michael Woods of York (N.Y.), Andre Nixon of SUNY-Purchase, Doug Thorpe of Wooster, Darious Watson of Albertus Magnus, Mike Garrow of Eastern Connecticut, Dillon Stith of St. Vincent, Dan Kornbaum of Augsburg and Chas Cross of UW-Platteville.
