Saturday was all about the Edgar Wildcats. The girls racked up a total of 110 point to claim their third straight track and field championship. The girls were headlined by Tessa Thurs, who claimed four gold medals.
For the Edgar boys, it took the final event of the day and an appeal to claim their first state title. Marathon initially captured the championship after placing 7th in the 4x400 meter relay. However, one of their handoffs was deemed illegal by officials, and the relay team was disqualified, giving Edgar the edge by just 1.5 points.
