KENOSHA, Wis. -- A late second half goal by host Carthage College gave the Lady Reds a 1-0 nonconference victory over UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday afternoon at Art Keller Field.
Scoreless through the first half, Carthage broke the scoreless tie in the 80th minute when Lady Red leading goal scorer Corinne Brennan placed a Rachel Post pass into the top left corner past UWSP goalkeeper Kristin Churkey for the game's lone goal.
Churkey tallied three saves on the afternoon while Carthage goalkeeper Abby Alm stopped all seven UWSP shots on target.
UW-Stevens Point (4-8-2) returns to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday, Oct. 19 at UW-River Falls. That game is set for a 2 p.m. start.
