Salmen Nets Fourth Game-Winner of Year to Top Blugolds

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - Cassandra Salmen (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) scored her fourth game-winning goal of the season to send the sixth-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team to a come-from-behind 3-2 win over UW-Eau Claire on Saturday night.

The Pointers earned their third one-goal win this season over UW-Eau Claire (4-15-2, 0-8-1 WIAC) and their ninth overall.

Nelson's power-play goal at 16:59 of the first period was assisted by Ava Plamondon (Blackhawk, CO/Nederland) and was Nelson's third this season.

Late in the second period, Nikki Kothenbeutel scored an unassisted goal to give the Blugolds the lead again. Less than two minutes later, Megan Nickelson (North St. Paul, MN/North) scored her third goal of the season, an unassisted goal, to tie the score at 2-2 heading to the third period.
