The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team will kick-off their season with an exhibition game against the University of Wisconsin on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Kohl Center in Madison.
The Pointers will take on the Badgers thanks to a partnership between the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and the University of Wisconsin. In the partnership, one WIAC men's basketball team and one women's team play the University of Wisconsin each season on a rotating basis.
Ticket reservations can be made online here. All reserve seating is in sections 107-109 and 121-123 and reserve tickets are $7 each.
General admission tickets will be sold at the gate with plenty of good seats available. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The Fastbreak Club will host a pre-game tailgate party at Buckingham's Bar & Grill starting at 5:30. A fan bus will depart from Lot F East on the UWSP campus at 3:30 pm.
Last season, UW-Stevens Point was 24-6 overall and 12-4 in WIAC play. The Pointers won the WIAC Tournament Championship game in overtime against UW-Whitewater to advance to their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament. After defeating Concordia-Moorhead in the first round, UWSP fell to Simpson 88-84 in the second round.
The Badgers are coming off a 12-19 season, including their first Big Ten Tournament win since 2010.
