Minutes later, fellow freshman Alex Kromm (Penticton, BC) found the back of the net for the first time in a Pointers uniform, giving UWSP a 4-0 lead heading to the final intermission.

UWSP head coach Chris Brooks was pleased with the effort his team put forth.
"I thought a lot of the goals we scored were goals in that critical area," Brooks said. "All the goals that we scored were from the hash marks to the crease. We have to get to that area, to pay the price, to be successful."
UWSP dives straight into Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play this weekend when the take on top-ranked St. Norbert College in a home-and-home series beginning Friday night in De Pere.
Brooks knows that his team will have to be ready to answer the bell come Friday.
"We have to be a lot better than we were tonight," Brooks said. "We've got some work to do over the next few days to get ready for a big weekend."
The Pointers welcome the Green Knights to Willett Arena on Saturday. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
