The Newman Cardinals will be playing for the Division 3 State Championship.
They defeated Hillsboro in straight sets 25-21, 25-12, 25-15 and will face Catholic Central on Saturday at 10 a.m. Catholic Central defeated Luck in four games 20-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.
The other two local teams at state volleyball saw their seasons come to an end.
Division 1 Merrill was defeated by Divine Savior Holy in three games 25-18, 25-21, 25-18. The Blue Jays finish the season 42-4.
Division 2 Tomahawk's season also came to a close. They lost to Kettle Moraine Lutheran 25-18, 25-15, 25-21 in three games. They finish with a record of 35-11.
